Finally in Manhattan after trying their best to make Brooklyn forget about kale, this narrow UES sleeve is slinging ridiculous mix 'n match burgers. Just grab a menu, a wax pencil, and your depraved imagination, then conjure up a ridiculously awesome meat + covering concoction, from a beef burger with mozzarella sticks on it, to shrimp burgers topped with... more shrimp.
Stuffed into a sliced donut and topped with a fried egg plus crumbled bacon, you can roll the dice and hope you show up when this guy's a special, or you can call at least a day ahead and ask them to have one ready for you when you step in.
This here is their very juicy looking lamb burger topped with caramelized onions and Swiss. [Ed note: see that tiny pocket of red in the middle? It burst and hit our photographer in the face with burger juice as he was photographing. It was awesome.]
They'll also be rocking non-donut special burgers, including this joint -- two patties, four waffles, lots of syrup. 1663 First Ave, btwn 86th and 87th St; Upper East Side; 646.368.1134; TheBurgerBistro.com
