Built by Austrian hiking enthusiasts in 1913, this rustic beer-lodge is only a 20-minute hike up the westside of Mt. Tam -- make the trek, and you'll discover rare Bavarian and Belgian brews, picturesque views of the Muir Woods, and your previously undiagnosed case of asthma. Best time to go's their secret Oktoberfest, but call ahead -- because it's one thing to be bounced to the curb, and quite another getting bounced to the trees.
