Founded by two born and raised DC natives, 3 Star Brewing Company has been recognized for their boundary-pushing brews -- think unconventional flavors like “Nectar of the Bogs,” a cranberry saison, and “The Southern Belle,” the highlight imperial brown ale. It’s a great brewery for beer nerds: not only are tours of the premises available, there’s also an on-site home-brewing shop so enthusiastic drinkers can try their hand at making their own drafts.
