Maple ice cream with maple syrup taffy pops at Cabane à sucre

Cabane à Sucre Pomminville

Montreal
Comfort Food Restaurant

This place is about 30 minutes outside of Montréal, but that's no excuse not to make the trip because it is TOTALLY worth it. Cabane à Sucre, which translates basically to Sugar Shack, is a dessert-filled eatery run by Martin Picard. The restaurant is located right on Picard's farm, on which he both taps his own maple syrup and raises pigs. Whether it's sugar or apple season, you'll be dining on a fixed menu, but it's always amazing because some of the offerings include smoked ham that's held in rafters over the maple kettles, maple taffy, and maple syrup pudding.
