This free-admission block party features "beer garden" drink specials on a slew of resto patios (Belga, Matchbox, Fusion Grill...), eight food carts loaded with brats and ribs, Redskins cheerleaders, a German classic-car show ("Eastern Bloc Edsel - a cold war Trabant!"), the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and an Iron Chef-style throwdown between active-duty Coast Guard, Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force chefs -- until Notre Dame shows up in a transparent attempt to pad its schedule.
