Thrillist BostonGoing abroad's exciting for awhile -- getting bewitched by beautiful foreign women, learning stuff -- but eventually all you want to do is come home, eat a crap ton of bbq and watch Titan rock the joustin your Bald Eagle pj's. Going USA all the way: Roadhouse.
From the sudsy couple behind Belgian beer haven Publick House, RH is an All-American BBQ joint featuring three rooms: a 35-seat dark mahogany bar, a massive, 170-seat/6-plasma dining room sporting solid wood booths w/ antique brick inlays taken from a Somerville demo site, and a take-out area w/ a behemoth two-ton custom-built pit smoker. Grub centers around meat: ribs, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and chicken, all drownable in 6 sauces, from original to spicey to honey (if you're a spice girl). To wash down the cholesterol, RH rocks 43 draught lines, mostly tapped to American Craft beers, including classics (Wachusett Country Ale, Brooklyn Lager, Cisco), IPAs (Green Flash, Lagunitas, Redhook), and Damn-That's-Strongs (Hennepin Farmhouse Ale at 7.7%, Victory Hop Wallop at 8.5%, and Southern Tier Pumking at 9% -- drink two, and you got Pumked).
As soon as it's sorted, RH will be opening a 50-seat landscaped and manicured German-style beer garden, because what's the point of going abroad if you don't come back with exciting, exotic ways to drink during the day.
