Whether a welcome sanctuary from a busy workday or just a means to kill a few hours, happy hour is aptly named for being one of the best parts of the day. We’re also lucky to live in an era where “hour” really means two or three or many more, and while the discounted drinks are the typical stars of the show at happy hour, those choosing not to imbibe can still feel like winners with the wallet-friendly pricing of scrumptious apps and small plates. From slurping oysters in Cherry Creek (though hopefully not 48 of them consecutively) to dipping into melty queso in LoHi to taking the plunge on a mystery shot on Broadway, Denver means business when it comes to happy hour. While we could never cover all the best deals, here’s a starting list of the neighborhood standouts across the city. Cheers.

Congress Park/Hale

Postino WineCafe

When: Open-5 pm daily; 8 pm-close daily
Postino will remain on the best happy hours list for some time, though we don’t see the harm in switching up the locale. The 9Co outpost has all the same sparkle and bang as the rest—namely, the selection of wines, bedazzling bruschetta, and of course, the daily deals. You can sip $6 glasses of wine or pitchers of beer until 5 pm every day, but our favorite happy hour element is the Board and Bottle bargain on Mondays and Tuesdays after 8 pm. Split a bottle of wine and a bruschetta board with the crew for just $25. Total steal.

Uptown

Park & Co.

When: 3-6 pm daily
Lauded as having one of the best happy hours in the city, this urban tavern on 17th Ave and Pennsylvania offers tasty bites and beverages seven days a week. For just around $20, you can snack on generous portions of Cajun chicken tenders, nachos, or a po’ boy or burger, then wash it all down with a cocktail or a $5 boot of beer. Yes, you read that right.

LoDo

Panzano

When: Tuesday through Saturday 4-6 pm (bar/lounge area only)
Fancy some lavish Italian fare without the triple-digit bill? Enter: Panzano’s happy hour menu. Savor a variety of antipasti dishes, from marinated olives ($6) and caesar salad ($7) to small but shareable pizzas ($12), all for the price of one or two Starbucks drinks. The bubbly Milano spritz ($7) is a worthy pairing, as are the $5 beers on tap and $7 wines by the glass. Feel like sharing? Opt for the $13 carafe—your choice of red or white.

Cheeseman Park

Ritual Social House

When: All day Monday; Tuesday through Sunday 11 am-6 pm and 9 pm-close
Come for the warm mountain taproom vibes and stay for the impressive deals—like an entire day of happy hour prices on Mondays. We’re talking half-off beverages and discounted small plates like Parm fries and blistered Brussels, or you can grab a house bottle of wine and a 12” cheese or pepperoni pizza for just a few bucks.

Capitol Hill

Angelo’s Taverna

When: 3-6 pm and 9 pm-close daily
With locations in Speer (or Alamo Placita or South Cap Hill, because Denver neighborhoods are outrageous) and Littleton, Angelo’s is a fan favorite, partly because you can catch happy hour twice on the same day. Drink specials include $1 off draft beer, $2 off tap wines, and $6 well drinks, but the food is where you really maximize those dollars. Perhaps the biggest draw is the $1 raw oyster of the day, but the $3 sliders, $5 salads, and $7 single-topping pizzas are equally valuable.

Baker

Adrift Tiki Bar

When: All day Tuesday; Wednesday and Thursday 5-7 pm
Discounted tiki drinks and Polynesian/Caribbean food; what more could you ask for? Not only does Adrift have all the specials—including “Easy Breezy,” seasonal food and drink specials for every occasion—but Tiki Tuesdays means happy hour pricing all day (and Red Rum Wednesdays are coming soon). Munch on volcano fries and spam musubi while sipping a tropical blended beverage, or get a little wild with an $8 mystery shot.

Wash Park

Blackbird Public House
When: Wednesday through Sunday 3 - 6 pm, Wednesday through Saturday 9 pm - close
You might’ve driven by this cool-but-subtle-looking spot before, but next time you should definitely stop by if $5 wines by the glass and $8 cocktails pique your interest. In addition to your drink of choice, enjoy bites like freshly shucked oysters ($1.50), Tuna Tartare ($9), or for $25, a bottle of wine and 12” pizza or charcuterie board.

Courtesy of Los Chingones

RiNo / Five Points

Los Chingones
When: Monday through Friday, 3 - 5:30 pm
In addition to being a popular rooftop spot, this place is also known for having one of the best happy hours in RiNo. Known as $5 weekdays, everything on the menu is that or less, with snacks like chips and queso (or guac), Borracho Street Corn, or a pair of tacos along with single margs, beers, and single house sangria for the same price. If you’re going with a group, margarita carafes are only $25.

LoHi

Señor Bear

When: 3-5 pm daily
Your favorite Latin-inspired bites and bebidas are all under $10 during Senor Bear’s daily happy hour, from the miniature version of its signature queso ($5) to chicharrones ($4) and croquetas ($7). Pair everything with beer, wine, tequila shots if you’re feeling frisky, or a refreshing house cocktail like a mezcal marg, Paloma, or cold brew tini for $8.

Speer

Angelo’s Taverna
When: 3 - 6pm and 9pm - close daily
With locations in Speer and Littleton, Angelo’s is a fan-favorite across the board, probably partly because you can catch happy hour twice in the same day. Drink specials are on-par with most, like $1 off draft beer, $2 off wines on tap, and $5 well drinks, but the food is where you’re really making those dollars count. From $3 sliders (meatball, sausage, or caprese) to $7 personal, one-topping pizzas, there are a few different budget- and tastebud-friendly options here. And, if you’re craving oysters but not craving the usual ticket price, satisfy your needs with $1 raw oysters of the day and $2 of the chargrilled variety.

Union Station

Three Saints Revival

When: Monday through Friday 4-6 pm, Saturday and Sunday 3-6 pm
Swooping in to claim the title for best Union Station area happy hour is Three Saints Revival, and not only because you can get classic cocktails—like a French 75 or Sidecar—for just $6. The varied tapas is both delicious and easy on the wallet, with shareable flatbreads, patatas bravas, and hummus for $7, plus larger bites like crispy pork belly and falafel for around $10. Bringing the coworkers along? Opt for the “Sip and Savor” charcuterie board and carafe of house wine for $35.

Cherry Creek

Blue Island Oyster Bar

When: Monday through Saturday 2-6 pm and Sunday 11:30-6 pm
It’s got “oyster” in the name so obviously that’s part of the appeal, but there’s more to this happy hour than bivalves. In fact, the sheer number of food options boosts this place to one of the best. Small snacks like deviled eggs and curry cauliflower are available for $6.50 alongside various seafood sliders and tacos, and a little pricier (but worth it) is the Knuckle Sandwich (mini lobster roll slider) for $19. Wines by the glass are all 40% off and select cocktails are only $8.50.

Lowry

Officer’s Club

When: Monday 4pm-close; Tuesday through Thursday 4-6 pm; Friday 3-6 pm
This spot’s classy, retro vibes and sizable happy hour options make it a local’s dream. Enjoy $2 off well drinks and beers, $1 off wines by the glass, and $7-$8 cocktails. Hungry? Good. The food menu means business with offerings like warmed New England Cheddar Biscuits ($5), Hickory Smoked Wings ($10), and a half order of Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders ($13), to name a few.
