“New Orleans is an absolutely delightful city to ride in,” said Wes McWhorter, founder of Rouler, a cycling-related lifestyle brand specializing in performance apparel and mechanical and fitting services who organizes and promotes competitive and noncompetitive events. “The relatively unchallenging terrain, beautiful plant and wildlife, and unique architectural and cultural features of the city make it special and fresh almost every time I get out on the streets.”
Besides taking in the historical scenery the city has to offer, cycling in around New Orleans’ green spaces is also a healthy and fun way to stay fit. April Dupre, founder and wellness coach of Footprints to Fitness, regularly bikes to City Park and along the Greenway.
“The reason I love City Park so much is because I grew up in Gentilly and my parents would make Sundays family day. We loved going to the park to feed the ducks, go to Storyland, and bike,” Dupre said. “City Park is is nostalgic for me and I'm blessed to currently live in the area as an adult.”
