This Pizza Joint Just Turned the Juicy Lucy Into a Pizza Topped With Pickles

Giordano’s specializes in Chicago-style stuffed deep dish pizza. But it’s newest menu item has a distinctly Minneapolis vibe. Giordano’s is serving a pie based on the pride and joy of Minneapolis – no, not Prince – the juicy lucy. If you're unfamiliar, it's a burger cooked with a pocket of molten cheese in the middle. When done correctly, it explodes every and burns everything it touches. It's delicious.

Whether you think the style was invented by Matt’s Bar or the 5-8 Club -- a debate capable of igniting a brawl in Minneapolis -- it’s a uniquely Minnesotan dish. The pizza will be as well. It's is filled with seasoned hamburger, caramelized onions, and American and mozzarella cheese. The pizza is then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and ranch dressing.

You've undoubtedly had hamburger on a pizza before, but this does a great job not just tasting like a topping. It genuinely mimics the taste of the juicy lucy, wrapped in a flaky pizza crust.

The tribute to the Bold North (is that still a thing?) will be available through the end of the year, with the final day of lucy pizza slinging coming on New Year’s Eve. Unfortunately, if it’s making your mouth water, you’ll need to get to Minneapolis to put your paws on it. It’s only available at the chain’s two Twin Cities locations. It's certainly not coming cheap for National Pizza Month, though. A small is $23.95 and a large will run you $34.75.

The restaurant will donate $1 from each pizza to a local cancer non-profit in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Plus, since it's a pizza, you won't have to take a trip to the emergency room for second-degree burns. There's a lot of cheese, but it doesn't explode out of the middle when you take a bite.

Sure, the Boston Red Sox ended up winning World Series, but a free taco feeding frenzy is something everyone can get excited about, regardless of team affiliation. Literally everyone is a winner, if you think about it.

When and where to get free tacos

Taco Bell is promising a free Doritos Locos Taco to everyone in the United States. More specifically, T-Bell locations all across the country that are participating in the nationwide tacopalooza will give you one Doritos Locos Taco for literally zero money between 2pm and 6pm (local time) on Thursday, November 1. All you have to do is line up, extend your hand, take your free taco, and eat said free taco. It's that simple. Though it probably wouldn't hurt to throw some Fire Sauce on it first -- just to be safe.

McDonald's New $6 Value Meals Even Come With Dessert

McDonald's isn't terribly expensive (in fact, if you're this "gold-digging" dog, it's free), but every dollar you save on a burger is a dollar you can spend on one of those confusingly delicious apple pies. We recommend being responsible with your money and doing that. Plus, you can now save money on a burger and get an apple pie thrown in -- saved money you can put toward still more apple pies. 

This bargain is McDonald's new $6 value meal. Starting on November 1, you'll be able to get the $6 Classic Meal Deal, which comes with your choice of four entrees: the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, the Big Mac, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, or the Filet-O-Fish. On top of that entree, you'll also get a drink of any size, small fries, and an apple pie (or a seasonal pie, but why would you do that?).

Unfortunately, it'll only be available "for a limited time." Delish points out that currently a Quarter Pounder with cheese in New York is $5.49 alone and $9.19 for a meal -- so this is a steal, and you should probably take advantage of it while it lasts.

You'll be able to buy like four more apple pies.
