Giving something up for the benefit of others is inspiring, whether its religious figures sacrificing their lives for the sake of mankind, or Al Pacino sacrificing his career so mankind could again be healed, by the laughter that came from Two For The Money. For a company based on such benevolence, check out FLI PELICAN
A really hardcore acronym for "Finding Love Inside", PELICAN was started by a Detroit native who moved to Atlanta to produce hip-hop beats, and now crafts streety gear at his manufacturing-capable ATL headquarters; the name was inspired by a fable of a pelican that would wound itself in order to feed its young when no food was available -- poetically displaying the difference between the large water bird and your average chickenhead. Tee off with the "Run Sh#t" in all caps; the double-Braves-logo, playing card-esque "BraveHarted"; and the Starbucks-inspired "Starstruck", whose backside has options such as "Fame Frapp", "Groupie Love" & "Envy Espresso", which the shirt says "fuels hatred", proving they're not above such mean-mugging. For added cloth, get the slim, soft cotton zip-up Spring Hoodie, a red/black, leather-armed varsity jacket, five-paneled logo hats, or the red, five-buttoned cardigan w/ a large embroidered "F" jersey letter and "Pelican" stitched inside it -- so much for that pelican love
FP's also got pelican-buckled belts, New Era caps, and beanies covered with stitched designs of paper planes. This Friday, they're doing a pop-up at the "Broke & Boujee" party on Spring St., where everything'll be just $20, so do the only thing you know how to -- go work out, and pick some winners.
