They say everything tastes good if you put it on a stick, but if you were satisfied with "good", you wouldn't have gotten so miserably depressed over never topping a 3.0 GPA...on a stick. Taking skewered meat and making it even better, Pick Up Stixx. The first eatery at the shaded, picnic-tabled SoFi Trailer Park, this shish-kebab operation makes every impaled morsel a new adventure via a constantly evolving selection of 15+ dipping sauces concocted by a seasoned kitchen warrior who just spent a year training under a Dutch master chef, who between the cigar and oven jokes must be constantly fuming. The not-too-complicated process: first, choose your protein in the form of quarter/half pound stakes of house marinated NY strip, mint & sweet soy lamb, white wine-marinated chicken, pineapple blackened pork, or veggies & grilled tofu, for if killing animals makes your bean curdle. Then comes the flavor-juice, with the categories Asian, Mediterranean, Spanish, and "Weird" hosting rotating recipes like orange chile sesame glaze, honey ancho mustard, minced onion & garlic essence, and sweet jalapeno goat & cream cheese, though any cheese Prince has gotten on top of might leave you wishing you'd just slept with the goat. Also ripe for the dipping are the trailer-made sun-dried-tomato focaccia and fried pierogies stuffed with potato and three cheeses -- yet another reminder that while 3 is good, it isn't even close to 4...on a stick.
