Deborah Cotton was a writer and activist who lived and worked in New Orleans; she passed away on May 2, 2017 due to complications from injuries she suffered in a 2013 shooting . She was active with Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, and was passionate about New Orleans culture and music; she would have appreciated contributions to the New Orleans Musicians Clinic & Assistance Foundation.
