1. Pecan Street Brewing 106 E Pecan Dr, Johnson City, TX 78636

Just a hopped-up skip and a stumble from Blanco's Real Ale Brewery, Pecan Street built their burgeoning brewpub, restaurant, and dance hall into an brick-facade Quonset hut that used to function as a hardware store, salvaging the wood shelving for the bartop and adding sauna-defying touches like an evaporation-based cooling system and a 16ft fan, which will presumably be waving a huge foam finger. For their opening they plan on tapping four beers, all created by their Fort Collins-expat brewmaster: an English Brown made with all-UK ingredients (East King Golding hops, etc.), the slightly ryed, 5.1% ABV County Jale Pale Ale, a Belgian Wit finished with orange peel & coriander, and an easy-drinking, unfiltered American number called the Catcher in the Wheat, sure to make you unproductive, but anything but a recluse.
