Local Table's Cocktail Tours

Important lessons are rarely accompanied by hard drinking, unless your dad is teaching you to hate liquor by making you finish the whole bottle, or your dad is Rip Torn, and is teaching you any number of other things. Schooling you on drinks whilst feeding you quite a few of them: Local Table's Cocktail Tours.

After creating successful food tours around Boulder's farm-to-table scene, the owner of LTCT is now launching four separate three-stop walking tours aimed to educate and intoxicate, with lessons set at the People's Republic's best watering holes like Tahona, Bitter Bar, and SALT, where ironically, a successful night ends with someone tossing you over their shoulder. Sessions include:

  • The Magical History Tour: Taste pre-Prohibition concoctions, then learn about the effects of oaks/ charring, and hear "the stories behind the first cocktails", which unlike the last cocktails, involve less texting of ex-girlfriends.
  • The White Lightning Tour: Explore the lighter side of spiriting with tastes of vodka, gin, and tequila 'tails, find out why tequila is produced in Jalisco, and discover the difference between potato vodka and grain vodka, too much of which'll make you go against the anything.
  • The Oaky Dokey Tour: Sip rum and whisky beverages while learning the history of Scotch and its different flavor profiles, plus "the geography of rum distillers" in Caribbean spots like Trinidad and Tobago, whose codependence is probably a byproduct of their boozy relationship.

And for the real sample seekers, they've got the Taster's Delight Tour, which'll cover both clear and brown spirits whilst letting you try so many, it'll truly test the pairing of drinking and class.
