Pasadena's newest brewpub

There are certain situations that require taking things into your own hands, though, if you listen to those 1950s Sunday School teachers, even thinking about doing so runs the very real risk of making you blind. Boldly taking the whole beer-brewing thing into their own hands: Haven Gastropub and Brewery.

HG&B's the second outpost of a semi-local gastropub mini-chain (the first one's all the way in Orange), with the new wrought-iron-chandelier and leather booth-enhanced Pasadena location doing what its sister restaurant does not: beer brewing, with a plan to roll out five varieties including an IPA, a Bavarian Hefeweizen, and an Imperial Stout, which is already clearly on the Dark Side. Foodwise, they've got fancy bar snacks (buffalo jidori wings w/ cayenne sauce & bleu cheese mousse, a goose pastrami sandwich w/ coleslaw, Russian & homemade mustard on artisan rye) as well as entrees like a butternut squash puree-sided duo of quail, which surprisingly doesn't come with potatos (sic joke right there!!). Wash that quail down with cocktails like a Walnut Manhattan w/ Buffalo Trace & walnut-infused liquor, as well as over 100 brews not even including their own, with 40+ international drafts like Duvel Single and O'Hara's Celtic Stout as well as bottles like Placentia's Bruery Saison Rue and Chi-town's Goose Island Matilda, which is a good choice in a pinch.

Doors're likely gonna open to the public a week from Monday, but either way you should drop your email below for a chance to win seats to early VIP dinners next week, so when they do finally open, you're not just going in blind, you heretic sinner.
