The prospect of being chased around in circles by a bloodthirsty woman with a gnarly war face who's ready to grind her elbow into your sternum is both frightening and undeniably exciting. But since your mom's got a cast on her elbow (oh, snap!!), go kick it on the wild side with the she-warriors of Guns N Rollers.
The Rose City Rollers' derby vixens are bringing their particular brand of ruckus to a Friday night bash at Blitz-Ladd, a bar whose name predicts your own state after a night quaffing derby-themed drinks with chicks who beat up other chicks for sport, with proceeds going toward equipping the team with all the hot pants they'll ever need. And you'd better believe they need a lot of hot pants. Scald Eagle and Untamed Shrew will be geared-up while playing bar games and doing live-band karaoke, so you should definitely sing "Paradise City" because, look, you're at a Guns N Rollers party and it will be like the cleverest thing ever... just do it!! All the while, you can learn more about hopefully-Kickstarter-funded documentary Flat Track Around the World, for which co-captain Juvie Hall hopes to hit five continents to interview four-wheeled demon-dames about the impact roller derby has on the feminine spirit, an impact that's especially pronounced when said spirit is up against the boards.
Best of all, the Rollers are opening 10 seats on their pre-game party-bus, on which you can slug beers with the gals before stopping at arcade/adult-beverage emporium Ground Kontrol for an hour of free games -- though if you go over that time limit, expect to get a very sternum warning.
