There's no more inspiring tale than the once-anonymous guy showing up at his school reunion awash in women, Ferraris, and enchanting cologne. Now, LA alum Steven Alan makes his sartorial return, and you will be helpless to resist him. Just opening his first LA store, Alan's a globetrotting USC grad who made his bones selling "casually simple" menswear in NYC (and as Frank Sinatra famously said, "If I can make it there, where's my goddamn martini?"). Alan's signature pieces range from pocketed wool zip-ups, to checkered golf shorts, to his trademark: button-ups with an outside "reverse seam", which tapers to slim even the most corpulent Mets fan. Augmenting the inventory is bounty from Alan's wanderings, including one-of-a-kind vintage cuff links, tie clips, and Rolexes, plus rare bags from Tokyo-based Porter, polos from NYC's Loomstate, and shoes from The Generic Man (actually, an LA-based company, and soon to be a new TV series starring the one and only James Marsden!). Over the next year, SA plans on opening three more local locations -- because LA might already be awash in exotic cars/babes/scents, but it's about to be awash in Steven Alan.
