Aristo Café

Modeling things after Europe can be a dicey proposition, as evidenced by Europe. Shoving that proposition into your stomach, Aristo Café, now open. From a first-time owner with over 30-years in the food service biz, AC's a just opened café modeled after traditional European sandwich shops that serves a full repertoire of soups, salads, and creative Parisian-style "artisan" sammies on freshly baked french baguettes and rustic ciabatta in a brightly lit 12-seat spot painted orange w/ green benches, a glass sandwich case, "L'epicerie" wall of high-end snacks, and six chalkboards, in case you feel the sudden urge to solve impossible math proofs, even though you're a lowly uneducated MIT janitor. Sandwiches include the Dijon-vinaigrette drizzled Parisian w/ goat cheese, beats, and microgreens; the Pointing the Brie (herb-mayo slathered Brie on a baguette w/ turkey and green apple); and the smoked salmon and Boursin cheese-filled New Yorker topped w/ cucumbers, capers, and an obnoxious disdain for pizza anywhere else in the country. If you prefer your lunch warm, there's a ham and Genoa salami Positano covered w/ tomato and roasted red peppers; a melted provolone and marinara-smothered meatball sub aptly named the North End; and the herb-oil dripped Neapolitan piled w/ grilled veggies and mozzarella cheese -- but, for whatever reason, no strawberry ice cream... Hello!? As it is a cafe, AC also serves baked goods and a full complement of Italian coffees, cappuccinos, and lattes, as well as organic teas (honey brush, rooibos vanilla healer) and five styles of light and dark cocoa, each from a different country, choose wisely or prepare to remark "EU-ew".
