Food & Drink

They say you can never have too much of a good thing, but then again they've never listened to unreleased B sides from Good Charlotte's self-titled debut. Giving you more tequila than you can probably deal with, Papagayo, now open

From the hombres behind Max and Dylan's/Tavern on the Water, this Mexican kitchen/tequila bar slings upscale Latin eats and over 80 agave fire waters, all from the 200-plus seat former Achilles/Persephone space, now festively outfitted with exposed brick/brightly painted walls and a panty-exposed Marilyn Monroe-esque life-size statue of a mariachi dancer with her skirt blowing up, just like Keenan Cahill's interweb videos. How old are you? In addition to staples like enchiladas & fajitas, there's a chimichurri'd hanger steak plated w/ glazed onions, cotija cheese, and seared greens, as well as five styles of lime-drizzled tacos like braised short rib, duck confit, pork belly, and pan seared tilapia topped w/ pickled red onions, avocado, cabbage slaw, and a garlic mojo -- which explains why it's so money at picking up (b)ass. For smaller street snacks, PG's serving skillet roasted mussel "fajitas" in a jalapeno cilantro cream, and Queso Fundido (pan seared chorizo w/ Oaxaca, Asadero and Chihuahua cheeses), as well as tuna ceviche shaved tableside, presumably with the help of razor clams.

To wash it all down, there's a four-page drink menu flush with mad tequilas (including premium flights), sangria, cervezas, a Sunday make-your-own Bloody Maria bar, and specialty margaritas like the Avion Blanco'd "Entourage", also the name of a show that can't have too much of a good thing, seeing as how Kevin Connolly still exists.
