From a power chef/GM duo of noteworthy pedigree (Harvest, Scampo, Craigie on Main), comes Bergamot, a progressive American eatery located in the old EVOO spot, and cooking up a balanced menu of fresh, locally sourced farm/sea favorites in a remodeled 78-seat dining room replete w/ earthy brown/green walls, refinished hardwood & stone floors, a black counter/light wood 8-seat bar, and a giant orange couch, but don't mention that -- it's sensitive about its weight/spray tan. Meaty entrees include a nettle-sauced roasted lamb loin accompanied by faro risotto/black trumpet mushrooms; braised rabbit leg w/ parsley pappardelle; and a grilled flatiron steak w/ créme fraiche-laced yellow finn potatoes, ramp vichyssoise, and dehydrated red onion that stubbornly refuses to drink Gatorade since they discontinued Citrus Cooler. They've also got sea fare like green garlic-sauced sea scallops w/ roasted asparagus and braised breakfast radish; egg-battered east coast halibut plated w/ fava beans and caramelized onion soubise; and pan-seared monkï¬sh medallions w/ fried capers, globe artichokes, and a sprinkle of chorizo dust, which has led to a tragic rise in Tinkerbell obesity.
