Nike SB Blue Lobster

Admittedly, making a sequel to a smash hit can be a total crapshoot; nail it and you're a Godfather, but drop the ball and nobody will even look who's talking... three! Rolling the dice Saturday, Concepts SB Blue Lobster Dunk.

A renewed collaboration between Nike SB and Harvard Square's uber-hep kickery, the BL is the much-anticipated follow-up to last summer's limited-edition red Lobster Dunk and debuts at the store this Saturday complete with unique promo packaging, raffle and skate-deck giveaways, and an on-the-water release party, like Richard Phillips's sans bullet-riddled Somali pirates. Although they're holding super specific deets close to the vest, the new BL will rock a blue colorway w/ "lobster" spots and neon yellow laces, "Zoom Air" cushioned heels, a fat, double-padded tongue w/ elastic center straps, breathable mesh/perforations, and a blue/white gingham patterned insole/inner lining reminiscent of a "lobster bib", perfect for mastering your Kickflip Indy at Tripp's Annual Chatham clambake. On top of general sweetness, the kicks come with a ton of extras: limited edition HAZMAT foam packaging, a Nike SB t-shirt, lace lock, hang tag, and claw band around the toe; the first 200 pairs come w/ one of two newly designed Concepts x Alien Workshop skate decks tricked out w/ graphics resembling a warning marker you might see on the water, which surprisingly isn't "don't bring your skateboard to the water".

If you can't snag the kicks, but still want to live the dream, there's an official "Brew Live Cruise" setting sail from Rowes Wharf Saturday night with music by DJ Statik Selektah, Masspike Miles, and Termanology; plus a full bar on board -- just keep your enthusiasm in check or you'll find you're staring in another sequel: You Got Served Too (Much).
