Proving that wonder works with more than just boys, bats, and bat-boys is Wonder Bikes: a Wichita Falls-based, fully custom operation helmed by a guy who first started working on vintage motorcycles with his flat-track racing father, and now draws inspiration from 20 blogs covering architecture, landscape, vintage photos, and anything else that has "just a cool vibe", also what your girlfriend'll be left with after you take off on your custom bike.
As for your dream ride: simply call him to flesh out your ideas, and if it can be done he'll build the entire thing from scratch -- or keyed off the old or new model of your choosing -- along the way using your more "Are you serious, guy?" notions as a basis for something that actually works. A pair of previous projects:
Cafe Racer: Everything's custom except for the factory engine, with modern electrical components tucked neatly beneath the vintage-look sheetmetal, rear sets, and seat. Performance goodies include Brembo brakes, a SuperTrapp exhaust, and a Joker air cleaner, which actually shoots out green smiley gas while your stereo plays a terrible Prince song.
Custom Carbureted XR1200: This beast started out as a brand-new Harley XR1200, and wound up as an old-school carbureted beast with a fully custom ignition; it's also 120lbs lighter than the original, hopefully a description of the new girlfriend you'll pick up thanks to your Wonder-ful bike.
