Blow up a Ferrari on the cheap

Now available through the M.A.D. Gallery in Switzerland, these prints were made by a Swiss graphic artist named Fabian Oefner. Each image took over two months to create, and they show the disintegration of some of the most iconic cars of all time -- not to mention what the cars would look like if you gave it to Michael J. Fox for a day mid-nuclear blast.

He starts by taking a plastic model of a car, like this gorgeous Series I E-Type, and incorporating all the bits into an exploded diagram, just like those instruction manuals you always refused to read. Using an intricate system of pins and strings, he carefully puts each piece in exactly the right spot before taking a picture of it, showing a level of skill and precision that pretty much guarantees he'll never be employed by TMZ.

Each piece is then put into place via Photoshop, creating what Oefner considers to be an illusion of a moment in time. It's also the only time it's acceptable to destroy a '54 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing in the name of art.
