The 1000HP Ford GT Convertible

When Ford unleashed the GT last decade a few intrepid owners saw some room for improvement, and so this beast was born. Called the Ford GTX1 TT, it might sound like a menage a trois between a top secret skunkworks project, a fast luxury car, and way too much fun on the Isle of Man, but this thing is the ultimate evolution of the car, and something Ford definitely should've made in-house. If you've got a spare half-mil, you can grab one right now.

Genaddi Design Group originally came up with a plan to turn the GT into a classic spyder, kinda like a few crazy Germans did with the CLK GTR Roadster. They were pretty convincing and Ford actually licensed them to build 50 versions called the GTX1. Amazingly, those who have driven both seem to think it handles just as well topless as it did from the factory.

Meanwhile, another company, called The GT Guy (yes, that's their actual name) developed a twin turbo kit for the Ford GT — hence the TT — that would enable anywhere from 800 to 1000 horsepower while still delivering a smooth driving experience that you can drive daily.

Enter crazy owner number one: the owner of this car took delivery from Ford, and then sent the car straight to Granaddi, then The GT Guy. The result? A lighter wallet, a drop-dead sexy American spyder, a perfectly drivable 1000-horsepower Ford GTX1 TT, and a chain of letters that ought to sponsor Sesame Street.
