3D print your own Porsche
3D printers are becoming so common you can have one just sitting in your house, wear a 3D-printed watch, or even attempt to build your own vintage car with one. Now, the good people at Porsche are actively encouraging you to use one and make duplicates of one of their rides.
According to them, they actually want you to modify it as much or as little as you'd like. They want to see what you're doing with it, so post it to their Facebook page or tweet it using #3DCayman.
Either it's an ingenious way to crowdsource the design of the next Cayman Hot Wheels model, or at the very least it's a nifty interactive marketing plan. Regardless, as soon as someone scales this thing into a full size car, it'd be the perfect decoy for would-be car thieves.
