Saleen Is Going To Pimp Out The Tesla Model S

The Tesla has been getting a lot of hate recently, but Steve Saleen and company are here to show it some love. The Saleen Model S is a full-on, tuned up electric supercar with that sweet Saleen touch.

Saleen is known mostly for their iconic S7 supercar and their blown out Saleen Mustangs, so the brand is definitely associated with pure American muscle cars. But a pure American electric car shouldn't be much of a stretch. This is the first legitimate aftermarket tuner attention to the Tesla, and it comes from the masters. Expect the standard Saleen upgrades, with a kitted-out exterior and an upgraded, overhauled interior.

Steve himself says he wants to "produce one of the most compelling Tesla’s to ever hit the roadway," and there is no reason to doubt his abilities given his track record. The Saleen Model S should be available this summer, so start saving some money: a Saleen Mustang is about $20,000 more than a standard one, so a Saleen Tesla Model S could run close to $100,000. Just think of all the money you'll save on gas!
