The All-Electric Audi R8 Is Coming

Audi has been working on an all-electric version of the R8 — called the e-tron — for a few years, and now they've decided to actually make some for the road. Essentially, it's everything you love about the R8, combined with everything you love about the Tesla.

It weighs a little bit more than the stock R8, coming in at around 4,000 pounds, but it's got 376 hp, so you won't care. Zero to 60 mph? 4.2 seconds. Emissions during that blast? Just your screams of joy.

The best part is, once you hit 60 mph, you don't have to stop. They've been working on the batteries so much that you can now drive up to 280 miles on a single charge. The downside is they're only making as many as people want, which basically means you've gotta tell Audi directly that you want one, since it's not likely to just show up at your local dealership.
