Crazy Caddies, Woodies: The eBay Seven 01/17/14

All the best cars you can bid on right now...

1954 Edwards America Coupe
To combat the perception that American cars were falling behind their European rivals, a steel-cable heir obsessed with racing cars hired a guy (who would eventually play a key role in engineering the Ford GT40) to build a Euro-beater. Performance-wise, it was right on par with the finest offerings from Ferrari and Aston Martin, but it cost $8,000 to make when most cars cost $1,700, and he lost so much money on each one, only five were ever built. 1986 Porsche 930 Ruf BTR Cabriolet
For Porsche drivers, the name Ruf is all about unbridled performance and taking the 911 well beyond its factory performance. The cars brought new meaning to the word "boosted," as their turbo kick was legendary. There weren't a whole lot of Ruf convertibles made, so the 374hp topless model is generally hard to come by. 1997 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster
Aside from being ridiculously fast and a worthy successor to the Countach, the Diablo was the first Lamborghini to feature a trick suspension that would lift the car up so you could pull dangerous tricks, like pulling into your driveway, without scraping. Whoever owned this Lambo first either hated it, or loved it so much they couldn't bring themselves to risk it on the mean streets of Manhattan, because it's got less than 1,000 miles on it. 1960 Cadillac Coupe DeVille
Nicknamed "Cruella," this DeVille was purchased for just $3,000 by a guy who decided that old Caddys weren't nearly long or low enough. It's entirely hand-built, mostly by the guy who owns it, and its 100% custom body and interior were good enough to take home the GM Design Award at SEMA. [More pics...]

1964 Amphicar 770
Apart from being just an adorable relic from the sixties, the Amphicar is one of the few cars that could be "driven" onto water, and it was cool enough that car enthusiast slash leader of the free world Lyndon B. Johnson drove one. [More pics...]

2003 Ferrari Enzo
As the spiritual successor to the F40 and F50, and the namesake of Il Commendatore, the Enzo was a car built with a lot to live up to, but honestly, in all black, it feels like a modern version of The Wraith. [More pics...]

1946 Ford Deluxe Woody Wagon
This Woody's actually a sleeper hot rod that was stuffed with what seems like a full catalog of goodies from both Chevy and Ford, before getting a full restoration and all new wood. All Woodies are cool, but this one's in it's own circle of awesome. [More pics...]
