Watch the Amazing Evolution of Formula One Pit Stops

Probably more than any other sport on earth, Formula One has pushed the boundaries of technological innovation and explored the limits of what is humanly possibly. Followers of the series are well aware that the crews at the pit stops are capable of changing all four tires and getting the car back underway in less time than it takes all but the fastest cars on earth to hit 60 mph.

For the 1950 pit stop to take just over a minute is actually incredibly fast for its day, considering most of us would still be fishing around in the trunk for the jack after a minute. The mind-boggling coordination, precision, and engineering that go into a modern pit stop, however, is no comparison.
