The quintessential Italian convertible

It certainly wasn't as fast as its Ferrari and Maserati brethren, but for those times when you just want to put the top down and take in some majestic scenery, this soon-to-hit-the-auction block Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider ranks as one of the most gorgeous cruisers money can buy.

The Alfa Romeo 2000 was a versatile car that took on quite a few different forms depending on which coachbuilder made it, including at one point a family style sedan. This one was sent off to the same folks that made James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 and the stunning Disco Volante — so naturally it's a gorgeous two-seater convertible.

The engine is a shiny, 2000cc (hence the car's name) four cylinder, and it puts out 115 horsepower, more than enough to fill its primary purpose of cruising down the highway.

This particular one's been restored with the intention of being driven around on the highways of California (or wherever you happen to live), so it's thoroughly up to snuff mechanically.
