While men appreciate the right jeans, technical terms like "low-rise", "relaxed straight leg", and "assless" tend to fall on deaf ears. For a brand that references distinctions you can understand, try Bread Denim.
Available for the first time in Chicago, LA-based Bread's doing high-end, hand-detailed denim in seven varieties, named after things like personality traits, a cherished actor, iconic musicians, and Dave Navarro. If you're thin and wear boots, go for "The Bowie"; if you're a sarcastic bastard, get the cowboy-cut "Smart Ass Twisted"; and for a rolled-cuffs, selvage-and-button-fly Americana look try "The Brando" and pray you don't become Moreau fatter than you already are. Because you do understand "colors", Bread offers a variety of washes, including newcomers like the blue/gray Artesia, which pops with a greenish tint; the 702 (light blue with even lighter whiskering); and 1951, a washed-out blue that screams "I've owned these jeans for 57 years!"
No matter what you choose you can't go wrong (even the off-white stuff), but careful with the "Dusty Blue Twill" wash -- so dainty, your protestations that you love cuddle-free sex and cheap beer will also fall on deaf ears.
