Mashups can breath new life into something established, from Jay-Z imbuing The White Album with a hip-hop edge, to Linkin Park imbuing Jay-Z with some worst band ever. Here with mashed up designs for your torso: Grind The Gears.
From a group of Ohioans with a penchant for pop culture, GTG's a robust line of witty tees that fuses together everything from 80s movies, to Saturday morning cartoons, to heavy metal, territory previously covered by Reading Rainbow in the Dark. Beloved muppets get turned into notoriously hard-partying rock stars, from an iconic red & white striped sweater-wearing Bert Cobain, to Fozzy Ozbourne (w/ cross-pendant & jet black hair, and surrounded by bats), to the glam'd up, lightning bolt-faced Piggy Stardust, appropriate as her love of Kermit meant she also liked jamming good with weird and gilly. Other glorious hybrids include the towering beehive-shaped helmet of Marge Vader; a bling'd up "Puft Daddy,", and a conspicuously-pierced Sonic the Hedgehog, aka "Segadeath" (a fate sealed by the Saturn's enormous library of Virtua Fighter 1 and 2).
Losing the toons, there's also a design featuring three separate hands displaying rock, paper, and scissors, though with the rock hand throwing up horns, which when thrown at a Linkin Park show conveys a literal desire to hook 'em.
