Katakana & Koko Sushi Bar

Opened by the folks behind the original Koko, Katakana's a 4,000-square-foot BYOB sushi haven. Decked out with huge Picasso reproductions and a central square sushi bar, K&K does all manner of maki, bentos, tempuras, and special creations like caramelized plantains topped with grilled whitefish and special sauce. There's also a filet mignon wrapped in bacon that's soaked in sake, but gamely insists on finishing singing Toto's "Africa" before changing into something dry.
