A Japanese bar on Halsted

Named for the small square sake cups (masu) that line its light wooden shelves, this Japanese take on a shared plates pub supplements adventurous sushi offerings (a soft shell crab, avocado, & spicy mayo Spider Roll gets topped w/ spicy tuna, fried lotus chips, & mango sauce) with bar bites like deep fried panko-breaded pork belly, and grilled whole squid soaked in soy, ginger, and mirin, a type of Japanese alcohol that will only grow oddly more arousing with age.
