The link between Chicago sports franchises and booze is longstanding, from the Wirtz family's liquor distribution biz, to the McCaskey's indirect support of the Wirtz family's business through their management of the Bears. Providing yet another connection, The Pitch
A collab between the technical director of the Chicago Fire and the owners of Rocks, The Pitch is a sprawling three-level brick-walled, suede booth'd sports bar with 30 screens and a boatload of soccer-leaning memorabilia, from framed jerseys to signed balls, a request commonly dreamed of by aspiring urologists. Scratch-made pub grub includes an Abita cheese dip w/ andouille & green peppers, skewers of jalapeno-cheddar and spinach-mozz links, and gouda-/jack-/cheddar-topped chipotle bbq sliders dubbed the "Pulled Pork Threesome", an activity in which everyone involved gets some butt. They're also doing half-pound burgers like the Big Kahuna (pineapple, teriyaki, avocado, Swiss) and the 2x4, twin 4oz cheese/bacon stuffed patties topped w/ jalapeno mayo & bacon bits; pizzas such as the giardiniera, bacon & Tabasco'd Chicago Fire; and finishers including deep fried Snickers, which you'll also be hearing when your chair collapses
Suds wise they're rocking 12 beers on tap (Goose Island Matilda, New Belgium Lips of Faith), all of which you can sample bright and early during Euro soccer games, an early start to drinking sure to please the Wirtz's, but manage yourself like a McCaskey and you'll be everyone else's burden to bear.
