Old stuff can get a new lease on life with a bit of manipulation: Stale bread needs only a date with a blender to become reborn as bread crumbs, and your stale relationship needs only a date with ... someone else to become reborn as over. Giving old stuff a new gig guarding your cash, Rogue Empire.
Started by a local transplant who brought his penchant for recycling from Portland, RE creates wallets and passport holders that draw heavily on old materials resurrected for a new life in your pants, a tagline just recently rejected by the keychain lobby. They craft numerous five-pocket billfolds from vintage polyester neckties (silk doesn't hold up well while fumbling for singles at the strip club), with various stripe, diamond and other classic patterns sewn together with nylon thread and lined with satin, also the name of a young lady you recently met while fumbling for singles at a strip club. They've also appropriated a dizzying variety of imagery and applied it to canvas and vinyl gear: vintage European maps and travel posters made into passport holders, wallets taken from the sides of old Corona boxes and the pages of Curious George books, a good fit since your entire apartment complex calls you The Man with the Yellow Cat.
Not all of the imagery recalls days gone by, as evidenced by one wallet featuring the sultry stare of a certain Scarlett Johansson, who'll inspire you to sneak into the bathroom to forget about your stale relationship with some manipulation of your own.
