For years motorcycles spoke to a man's roguish self-confidence and rugged sense of adventure, which does nothing to explain how Danny Bonaduce got his hands on one. Now you can wear that confidence even without the hog, thanks to Isle of Man.
A new men's shop taking stylistic inspiration from vintage cycling, IOM's packed wall-to-wall with throwback-style clothing, furnishings, and accessories, along with decorative touches like vintage Playboys and human skulls, a vibe the owners describe as "Steve McQueen, Hunter S. Thompson and Ralph Lauren having a yard sale", so...it's all yours, Ralph! The collection ranges from gear like an in-house line of racing-inspired tees & jackets, and Les Ateliers Ruby helmets, to housewares including a 1935 boat racing trophy and a coffee table made from an old military (what's inside? Don't ask, don't tell). Accessory-wise they've got spark plug-shaped cufflinks, Thunderbird wallets, and Randolph Engineering sunglasses; there's also a stock of grooming products including a house line of badger hair shaving brushes, which explains why Barry Alvarez is bald.
To celebrate their arrival they're throwing a grand opening shindig Saturday from Noon-5pm featuring a store-wide discount, beer and Manhattans, burlesque dancers, and "exotic meat pairings", which does everything to explain why Danny Bonaduce's there.
