People always wonder what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object, but what they don't ask is what happens to an unstoppable force when it gives up. If that force is you, then it starts drinking at The Vault.
Named for a second-floor bank safe that was so insanely heavy it proved too imposing to remove from the building (so the owners gave up and left it there), The Vault's a 65-seat cocktail lounge with zebra pillow-strewn chocolate-colored banquettes surrounding an off-kilter bar shaped like a horseshoe, which in a pinch can be painted purple to bring in the cereal-obsessed leprechaun crowd. Said bar'll be slinging cocktails like the The Lotus Blossom (rosemary/lavendar vodka w/ lychee & ginger liqueurs plus a splash of white cranberry), the French 75 (prosecco/ cointreau/ Bombay gin/ lemon), and the Beefeater/ St. Germain/ fresh citrus Alice in Wonderland, a refined response to all those Long Island Iced tea parties. To steady yourself there's a light menu that includes aged prosciutto/marinated olive platters, grilled portobello bruschetta, personal 'zas w/ a rotating selection of toppings, and romesco sauce-kicked skewered sausage, aka romesco sauce-kicked Chris Cooleys.
To set the mood there'll be a steady rotation of guest DJs, including DJ Niena Drake at Friday night's grand opening party, where your unstoppable dancing is sure to meet plenty of immovable objects.
