There's nothing worse than being trapped when things go pear, whether it's marriage, volunteering at the animal shelter, or a standup comedy meltdown. Get funny with an escape route, on the Comedy Walk.
Falling on the 2nd Thursday of each month, the CW's a free event held simultaneously at 6 walking-distance downtown venues, with 20+ comics performing 10-minute sets. Blessedly, patrons are expected to wander in/out as they please, or as soon as the guy with the wonk-eye starts talking about not having dates. Three you'll want to sit through:
The Mooney Twins: Constantly one-upping and interrupting each other, the identical sons of Paul Mooney have 20 years of standup experience, but also dabble in financial self-help speaking (tip 1: don't go into comedy).
Rebecca Addelman: Like Sarah Silverman, but Canadian, her bit muses on the classic standbys: Barbara Streisand and baby penis.
Erik Lundy: An Arkansas transplant rocking a "Harry Potter meets Budweiser" haircut, he recently predicted increased snippiness in a now-married Rachael Ray ("Maybe when we come back from commercial that bitch from the party last night will make you a sandwich").
Once you've gotten your comedic fill, you can hit the overlapping downtown Art Walk, where everyone'll wish you'd take an escape route when you start laughing riotously at photo exhibits on animal cruelty.
