The Coolest Indoor Pool Bars in the World

All winter, we dream of the drinking pleasures that warm weather will bring—like swim-up bars, rooftop watering holes and beautiful sandy beach bars. But there’s no need to wait for the fairer seasons to enjoy poolside sipping because there are plenty of indoor spots that cater to your desires for sipping Mojitos on a chaise lounge. Here are five of the coolest indoor pool bars in the world to tide you over until Memorial Day.

Room Mate Grace Hotel, New York, NY

This hotel’s indoor pool bar has been a New York icon for years, offering the only true indoor swim-up experience in the city. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, the space often plays host to both public and private events. We think it’s an especially fun party idea for beach bums who were cursed with winter birthdays.

The St. Regis Lhasa Resort, Tibet, China

The St. Regis Lhasa’s glorious saltwater Gold Energy Pool is the perfect place to relax and luxuriate with a view of the resort’s lake and Himalaya Palace in the distance. You can even order a foot massage, food and drinks to the surrounding cabana-style seating. We suggest sipping on the property’s signature cocktail, the Tubo Mary—a Bloody Mary variation blended with bird’s eye chili and garnished with whipping cream and barley, an age-old Tibetan staple.

Camelback Resort, Tannersville, PA

This family-friendly resort in the Pocono Mountains offers all kinds of activities, from snow sports to a sprawling indoor water park. That’s where you’ll find us, with a drink in hand on a stool at the swim-up bar, Flyboys. The best part is that this area is 21 years and older, so no splashing munchkins can ruin your bright blue drink.

Badrutt’s Palace, St. Moritz, Switzerland

Take the plunge from Badrutt’s famous granite rock into their 87-degree pool where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding Swiss Alps. Swim through a glass door, and suddenly you’re in the heated outdoor pool as snow falls around you. Grab a full flute from the Champagne bar and let the relaxation vibes take over.

The Water Club at Borgata, Atlantic City, NJ

The Borgata Hotel & Casino is the perfect Atlantic City getaway no matter the time of year—there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied without ever leaving the building. But our favorite place to be is lounging by the 21-and-over indoor pools at the adjacent Water Club. Relax on a chaise lounge under tropical palms after ordering a drink from the bright orange bar.
