While we wish we could spend every day of summer basking on the beach with a Piña Colada, in reality we have to go to our fluorescently lit jobs every day—no matter how beautiful the weather is. If you’re like us and need a mental escape to somewhere far flung and tropical, you should follow these exotic boozy Instagram accounts. Scroll the beautiful feeds of these bartenders and bars to live vicariously through their beachy pics.
Really Dough's Mark & Scott Take a Bunch of Shots, Do Blind Pizza Taste Test, Argue a Lot
This Instagram account follows the ventures of Elad Zvi and Gave Orta, co-founders of Miami hotspot Broken Shaker and several other properties, and their vibrant staff. In this feed you’ll find brightly colored drinks served by bartenders with even more colorful personalities. Void of EDM and oversized Mojitos, it showcases the Miami Beach party scene you actually want to be a part of, along with snapshots from their equally beachy Los Angeles locations and jealousy-inducing travels abroad.
Tanjong Beach Club’s Insta feed heavily features three of our favorite things in the world: beaches, booze and lots of Instagram celebrity puppies traversing the club grounds. They feature everything from Prosecco ice pops to cocktails in pineapples to their signature riff on an Aperol Spritz. But did we mention the puppies? Look at this corgi buried in the sand and try not to follow immediately.
Jose Luis Leon, Mexico City
Jose Luis Leon, bartender at Licoreria Limantour and Baltra Bar in Mexico City, makes us want to fly south of the border every time he posts a drink picture. Some shots feature his own tequila and mezcal cocktails, but we’re especially obsessed with his travel porn shots—from tequila on the Patrón Hacienda to cervezas on the playas to tropical cocktails in Puerto Rico.
If the infinity pools, dramatic sunsets and mouth watering Indonesian food isn’t enough to get you to Bali’s Sundara Beach Club, their gorgeous photos of elegant seaside cocktails will do the trick. The Jimbaran beach acts as the background for tropical drinks like bright red Caipirinhas and Lychee Martinis. And best of all, they don’t seem to have any policy against drinking those beautiful cocktails in the crystal clear pools.
Natalie Jacob, Jersey City
Bartender Natalie Jacob may hail from the decidedly un-tropic land of Jersey City, but you’d never be able to tell from her sunny Instagram feed. Because she shoots everything in bright natural lighting, her Mango Mai Tais, Watermelon Margaritas and Mezcal Palomas transport us to a place where the temperature is always perfect. Sometimes that includes actual travels to destinations like Palm Springs and Spain. Even her Christmastime shots have palm trees in them.
This luxury club in Turks and Caicos is partially to blame for our daily Caribbean daydreams. In addition to seemingly endless bottles of rosé, rum drinks abound on their white sand shores and bright blue waters, from cocktails served in coconut shells to rosy punches. And judging by their pics of darker-than-average Piña Coladas, it’s safe to say that Grace Bay Club is one resort that doesn’t skimp on the booze.
Sometimes we forget that the mind-blowing paradise of Hawaii exists within our own country, where local Americans can casually saunter over to stunning beach bars like Duke’s Waikiki after work. This tiki haunt posts lots of the state’s signature Mai Tai but also captures the fun-loving, aloha spirit of Hawaii with personable pictures of staff and patrons alike, drinking on surfboards and relaxing at the beach during sunset.
Mia Fox, Zürich
Swiss cocktail blogger Mia Fox is a lover of all things tiki and takes that passion with her to beaches throughout the world. She posts plenty of her own eye-catching cocktails—like this pink dragonfruit Margarita—but also includes insanely beautiful, pastel-hued shots of destinations like Santorini, Maui and Barbados. And when she combines the two and posts about drinking on the beach, it really makes us wonder why we haven’t quit our desk jobs yet.
