The Most Popular Booze Brand in Every State

America is a wonderfully diverse place, but when it comes to liquor, we as a country are surprisingly like-minded. We might come to blows over politics or Game of Thrones loyalties, but, as it turns out, we can all agree that Jack Daniels makes a solid glass of whiskey. At least, those of us in Texas, Florida and California. Arizonians, on the other hand, might make an argument for Evan Williams.

In 2015, the data experts at Social Standards polled 700,000 users about their favorite spirit brands on its social drinking app Bartendr. And while the report may now be going on two years old, we’re confident today’s numbers are pretty similar, given how loyal many drinkers are to their preferred drink. The findings were surprisingly decisive. Power players like Fireball and Jack Daniels dominate the map. There are a few upsets, though, like the enclave of Hennessy lovers in New York and Massachusetts. Don’t get us wrong—we love a good Sidecar as much as the next drinker—but who would have thought Henny was No. 1?
