Mislabeled as the villain by America, Corinne is the true star of this season of The Bachelor. She is the only one smart enough to realize that the entire competition is one big, open Champagne bar. But as much we love watching Corinne pop bottles in the bathtub while she misses her nanny and gets ready for a nap, we’re still waiting for the one iconic drunken moment we’ve come to expect from the reality show. In the meantime, we’ll just have to settle for re-living the seven craziest, booze-fueled moments from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
Really Dough's Mark & Scott Take a Bunch of Shots, Do Blind Pizza Taste Test, Argue a Lot
7. Ryan Becomes Disgustingly Offensive and Is Sent Home
While most of the drunken moments from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are hilarious to watch, there was nothing funny about Ryan McDill’s behavior towards his fellow contestants and the co-bachelorettes, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson. After berating the other suitors, threatening to assault one of them and stripping down naked, McDill became the first contestant to ever be sent home by host Chris Harrison before the first rose ceremony even started. After his elimination, McDill claimed he knew it wasn’t going anywhere with either of the girls, so he “just started being entertaining, got way too drunk, started acting crazy, and turned it into gold.” We beg to differ.
6. Tim Falls Asleep and Is Carried Away to the Car
Kudos to bachelorette Ashley Herbert for handling a drunk suitor on the first night with such grace. Tipsy Tim McCormack slowly faded away from coherent conversation, before falling fast asleep on the couch. Herbert gently woke him up, helped carry him to the car and told him to get home safe, thereby eliminating him.
5. Vinny Ambushes JoJo During Her Confessional
JoJo Fletcher famously cried on the bathroom floor during a heartbreaking moment of The Bachelor while competing for Ben Higgins’ heart—a moment she definitely did not want to be reminded of when it was her time to shine as The Bachelorette. Unfortunately, contestant Vinny Ventiera ambushed JoJo during her one-on-one confessional with the producers to say, “I would never let you beg for my love on a bathroom floor. I would never do that.” He would, on the other hand, enthusiastically remind her of an incredibly embarrassing moment. How sweet.
4. Jordan Shows off Her Twerking Skills
Contestant Jordan wasn’t selected for a group date with bachelor Chris Soules, so she got drunk in the mansion, talked badly about the other girls’ grooming habits and twerked in a handstand against the wall instead. In the words of one of the other contestants, “Cheers to Jordan—she’s drunk tonight. She was drunk yesterday. She was drunk the day before. She’s gonna be drunk tomorrow.” Honestly, it’s not the worst strategy for the show.
3. Tara Keeps Falling Over During the Rose Ceremony
After having one too many cocktails during the first mixer of the season, Bachelor contestant Tara Eddings visibly struggled to keep it together during the rose ceremony, stumbling and wavering in her leopard-print high heels. She complained, she swayed, and at one point, she nearly fell off the steps. Bachelor Chris Soules noticed, dramatically left the room to contemplate his decisions, and then decided to give Tara another chance and hand her a rose anyway, much to the ire of the other girls.
2. Chad Acts Disorderly, Passes Out, Soils Himself and Is Sent Home by Chris Harrison.
On the premiere episode of the Survivor-inspired spin-off, Bachelor in Paradise, infamous villain Chad Johnson drank way too much and went on an epic rampage. He threatened to murder everyone, mocked a woman with disabilities, passed out and pooped his pants—all on night one. Host Chris Harrison told him he’d turned paradise into hell and sent him home, but Chad refused to leave and instead drunkenly stormed his way around the island, cursing at the the producers and accusing Harrison of living in a cushy, robe-wearing, Mimosa-drinking world.
1. Lace Accuses Ben of Not Making Eye Contact With Her
This is the classic level of crazy viewers tune in for year after year. When seemingly normal contestants reveal themselves to be off-the-wall crazy after a few drinks, that’s TV gold, and no suitor ever showed her true colors faster than Lace Morris. Despite getting a rose on the first night of the season, Lace felt the need to confront bachelor Ben Higgins, demanding to know why he refused to make eye contact with her throughout the rose ceremony. Let’s break that down: On the first episode of a competition in which one man dates over 20 women, this girl was already jealous that a guy she barely knew (a stranger, essentially) dared look at another woman. The outburst was so insane that Saturday Night Live even parodied it with the character “The Drunkest Character on The Bachelor,” who says she felt a connection with Colin Jost “ever since she saw the opportunity to be on TV.”
