Recently hatched by a Chicago couple, this soulful shop uses Flowers Baking Co. bread to create cold inventions (the guac, pepperjack, & chipotle mayo "Monterrey Turkey"), hot classics (meatball marinara), and regional gems like "The Southern", a gravy, 'shroom, & onion-covered pork chop filet. As if sandwiches weren't entertaining enough, there's also Tuesday live jazz, Wednesday open-mic comedy, and Thursday karaoke, during which people eating "The Southern" will experience a double "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
