Applebee’s Is Selling $1 Long Island Iced Teas

December is for giving gifts, receiving gifts and thinking about gifts. Now, thanks to Applebee’s, December is also for $1 Long Island Iced Teas. Applebee’s is following up on its dollar Margarita month in October with an encore of another drink special the company is calling “Dollar L.I.T.” (One presumes they’re spelling Long Island as one word, hence the missing “I.”)

“The Dollar drink is back at Applebee’s just in time for the holidays, and this time, folks can enjoy a $1 Long Island Iced Tea,” Patrick Kirk, the vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s, said in a press release. “The Dollar L.I.T. is kind to your pocket book and a great drink to share with old friends and new ones this holiday season.”

A spokesperson told Buzzfeed that Long Island Iced Teas are in the top five best selling drinks at Applebee’s, and are made with vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, sweet and sour mix, and cola. It’s like the adult cocktail version of getting a little bit of each flavor from the soda fountain.

Not all Applebee’s are participating, but you can check the Applebee’s website on December 1 to find the closest one to you.

The Dollaritas remained popular in October despite a water-down scandal midway through the month, so clearly Applebee’s has found something that clicks. Quality cocktail or not, the dollar drinks prove that if you want younger generations to love casual dining chains with as much passion as their parents, dish out cheap alcohol and focus on the “bar” portion of “grill and bar.”

There truly is no place like the neighborhood to get L.I.(I.)T.
