5 can't-miss Austin Beer Week events
Austin Although it may seem like every week in Austin is beer week, this is the real deal! We’re talking 11 days of beer nerd heaven! Every badass brewer and brewery is involved via serious foodie events, education events, pairing dinners, happy hours, meet-and-greets, and more beer-related glory. We have some can't-miss highlights below, but please check out the full calendar! Happy Beer Week, Austin!
Friday, October 24th: Kick off arguably the biggest and best Austin Beer Week ever at the Official Opening Party at Craft Pride. Go at 6pm to check out rare and cellared beers, live music, and a toast to celebrate five years of Austin Beer Week. Continue Reading
Saturday, October 25th: As always, Draught House will be serving a "plethora of fine beers" & local favorites, and Garbo’s Lobster Truck will be on hand serving food -- all to celebrate Draught's 46th Anniversary, starting at 1pm. Don’t miss the East Side King pig roast.
Monday, October 27th: This party is going to be one for the books! At Real Ale Metal Monday ft. Rare Tappings and DJ Metal (at Craft Pride), Erik Ogershok from Real Ale will be DJing metal jams and serving super-rare beers. The most metal beards (courtesy of Austin Facial Hair Club) will be onsite to incite beard-y jealousy. As if that wasn’t enough, there will be a screening of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, and pizza-gods Via 313 will have a special metal-themed pie on the menu. It all starts at 6pm.
Thursday, October 30th: Join Jester King Brewery for a beer and food pairing event of epic proportions! Jester King Funk n' Sour Fest, which kicks off at 6pm, will feature tons of great food and booze pairings, like Dai Due & La Cruz de Comal Wines and Noble Sandwich Co. & 5 Stones Artisan Brewery, among others. Each restaurant will serve two small plates paired with two different beers or wines. Get your extremely limited tickets here!
Friday, October 31st: Celebrate Halloween Night with BBQ, brisket, cider, and the bizarre, cannibalistic cult film, Parents -- all at Micklethwait Craft Meats! Austin Eastciders has taken their cider and fermented it with Micklethwait's brisket, and they’ll be tapping it for you to try! Free BBQ samples, free cider samples, free movie! It all starts at 6pm.
