Where to watch the World Cup in Denver

Published On 06/12/2014 Published On 06/12/2014

Denver Every four years, a bunch of Americans find themselves increasingly interested in a kind of football that doesn't involve a single Manning brother. Because the World Cup is fantastic! And even if you aren't into it for some reason, finding excuses to go to bars at odd times of day is something we can all agree on. Here are the best places to do just that:

Three Lions

Three Lions Pub
Colfax
The Colfax pub and general-rowdy-house will be opening at least three hours before first kick in order to make sure you have all your priorities (your priorities = pints) in order. Also, expect them to have an outdoor beer garden open for the full month. Continue Reading

Boone’s

Boone’s
Southeast
Neighborhood tavern Boone’s will be getting you ready for action (along with FC Denver), giving away tickets to matches, World Cup schwag, and a USA team jersey from Breckenridge Brewery. Also, you can keep your thirst quenched with weekly craft beer and margarita specials.

Tamayo

Tamayo
Larimer Square
Tequila palace Tamayo is keeping the World Cup excitement going in their lounge, where they will be broadcasting all the action. Pretend you are watching in person by sipping on caipirinhas, caipiroskas (caipirinhas with vodka instead of cachaça), and beer specials.

The British Bulldog

The British Bulldog
Northwest
This year's host of Budweiser’s World Cup Street Party, the Bulldog will be kicking off the festivities on the 12th. They also have the largest screen in the state on hand for the USA vs. Germany showdown, and special events that change with every USA game. There will also be a major World Cup Final party on July 13th, no matter who’s playing (because... it probably won't be the USA).

Skyline Park

Skyline Park
Downtown
Downtown’s Skyline Park will be filling up with soccer hooligans as they offer free viewing  on a 20ft screen. Food and drink vendors will be around to keep you going strong, as will a beer garden, a drumline, and even player appearances. Not the players who are in Brazil, obviously.
