Treat your dad like a (beer-drinking) Princess

Motor City Brew Tours is commandeering the Detroit Princess for a Michigan beer-fueled boat cruise along the Detroit River happening on Sunday, which is Father's Day, as you definitely already knew and weren't just now reminded of.

This thing is crazy easy. All you do is purchase a ticket and show up to the dock with Dad in tow. Refrain from making tugboat noises long enough to impress the old man by saying something like... "Hello Dad, it's me, your son. Did you know that the Princess has been charting its course on the Detroit River since 2005, but in a former life, this 222ft-long, four-decker was a Louisianan riverboat casino owned by Merv Griffin?"

The four-hour-long lazy river ride is designed to showcase awesomeness like the city's riverfront, scenic downtown views, and Hart Plaza, plus less awesomeness like, ugh, Canada.

As for the tasting, it's going to last for FOUR HOURS (from 3-7p), with a well-represented Michigan brewer lineup (Founders, Arcadia, Bell's, Dark Horse, Brewery Vivant...) breaking out special seasonal brewpearances in 4oz pours that can be redeemed through the 15 (!) included tickets. There'll also be something they've dubbed as an appetizer buffet, so feel free to eat as many entree-sized portions of chicken wings as possible.

And because Father's Day is always more fun with Hard A (amirite??), Valentine Distilling Co. will also be aboard pouring samples in addition to running a cash bar.
