Here’s How Much Exercise You Have to Do to Burn Off Your Night Out

Mark Yocca

We think that a well-made cocktail is one of life’s great pleasures. But like so many of the most enjoyable things, it comes with strings attached. No matter how much you may try to convince yourself, a Martini is not as good for you as a bowl of quinoa. So, if you have a few over the course of an evening, you may want to work them off at the gym the next morning. To help you plan your workout routine, we’ve paired popular drinks with the amount of exercise you’d have to do to burn of the accompanying calories. Since different outlets calculate these things differently, we went with the calorie count provided by the National Institute of Health and calorie burning information provided by the Harvard Medical School for weights near the average for American men and women.
