Saturday, May 4th:
The super-great downtown brewery Angel City's officially opening (after, like, months of being kinda open) with a crazy-eclectic music lineup (Gospel! Soul! The dude from Tower Of Power!), and a hangover brunch the following day. All the info is right here
Like beer but don't live on the Eastside? You can hit the Vegan (boo!!) Beer (yay!!) Fest in the parking lot outside the Roxy, which's got plant-based grub from actually-good spots (Mohawk Bend/STREET etc.), AYCD beers from dozens of breweries including Hangar 24 and Triple Voodoo, and music from super-lauded local dudes Saint Motel. You can check out the full deets here
Sunday, May 5th:
The fifth year of the Cochon tour's at the House Of Blues, and it's got five chefs (including The Charleston's dude and the Fig guy) rocking all-you-can-eat pork insanity from five sustainably-farmed pigs, paired with five wines and prepared in dishes head-to-tail, which is something you definitely won't be getting when you come home smelling like bacon. There's also an afterparty? What-whaaaat???
Now Open: Hitting mid-city's The Larder At Burton Way, a breakfast/lunch/dinner cafe from the ultra-famous AOC/Tavern lady that features greatness such as bucatini and lamb meatballs w/ spiced tomato, plus slow-cooked pork shoulder w/ toasted cornbread. What's in that photo? Find out (and check the whole menu) right here.
Starting May 11th, that clothing company you loved as a kid (Stussy) is partnering with that gastropub you love as an adult (Plan Check) for a week-long partnership with a set menu that includes a Stussy-inspired burger (seriously) and, for the first 100 people, a limited-edition tee.
